About Georgia Steeplechase:

The Steeplechase, held at Kingston Downs, is a timeless southern tradition held at one of the most widely respected track in the south east. Each year, tens-of-thousands of equestrian enthusiasts and organizations come together for an amazing social event benefiting several Georgia charities. Since 1966, the Steeplechase has been Georgia’s premier entertainment and sporting event often referred to as “the best lawn party in Georgia”. Recently we acquired this timeless event are excited to bring it under our new management.

Job Summary
We are in search of an enthusiastic, ambitious and detailed oriented individual who would like to gain valuable experience as a Marketing/Event Planning Intern for the Georgia Steeplechase. This intern will work closely with the CEO and our Leadership Team on various projects related to the Georgia Steeplechase event. This person will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and must NOT be afraid of the phone. Internship will offer a wide variety of experience to build your skills in event planning, fundraising, not-for-profit operations and marketing.

Job Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate accredited college/university degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the field of Marketing, Event Planning, Non-Profit Administration and/or Communications

Minimum GPA of 2.5 cumulative or major

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Software

Must possess effective and confident communication and negotiation skills

Detailed oriented multitasker with skills to manage multiple projects in timely manner with the adaptability to change tasks upon request

Internships do not provide compensation because of our not-for-profit status

Responsibilities Include:

Undertaking daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of event activities, and supporting marketing executives in organizing various projects and executing requests per required deadlines

Updating spreadsheets, databases and inventories with requested information

Composing and posting creative online content on the company’s website and social media accounts

Writing timely marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc.) to augment Georgia Steeplechase’s presence in the market

Contacting (via phone, email and social media) sponsors, donors and vendors to effectively build a potential contact database(s), negotiate bids/contracts, manage all event details, and to create long lasting relationships

Work alongside our marketing and public relation teams to promote and publicize events

Prepare and execute production reports on a regular and timely basis

Firm grasp of digital/social media platforms, interaction, tools, and measuring outcomes

As one of our Calling Agents, you will assist clients in their growth strategies making telephone contact with prospects from a provided list and scripting and either live warm transferring the lead or scheduling appointments. Using our dialer system and CRM software, agents will present products/services with confidence and expediency while tracking and reporting daily performance. Agents will also utilize our conversion and email marketing software to create leads as well as work hand and hand with our account management team. For the right candidates, we do allow and strongly encourage telecommuting.

Job Summary

The Jr. Web Designer is responsible for design and layout of HTML websites, emails and web landing pages. YOU MUST KNOW WORDPRESS. They will collaborate directly with Creative Director to generate effective solutions for our client’s digital marketing needs.

Good Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Indesign
